2. What is required when hosting a KLAW Event?
There are no fixed rules for hosting. It's up to the host to decide……
But experience with earlier events has helped develop a list of things that can be considered.
- Would you find it helpful to talk to someone who has previously hosted an event?
- Is this a public event that you are inviting KLAW members to?
- If this is a public event will you be charging an entry fee?
- If you will charge, what will the charge be?
- Do you wish to or have to impose a limit on the number of attendees?
- Can you provide car parking near your landholding or can you direct people to somewhere nearby?
- Will there be a charge for parking?
- Are dogs welcome?
- If dogs are welcome, should they be kept on a lead?
- Is the landholding and event suitable for small children?
- Is the location easily accessible: is it steep / lots of steps / slippery or difficult to walk across?
- Have you any other health and safety worries that are a barrier to people attending?
- Should members bring their own food / drink?
- Will you provide anything to eat or drink?
- If the weather is bad, e.g. rain, snow, high winds etc., will you have to cancel or postpone?
- If you have to cancel or postpone how and when will you contact those who want to attend?
- Can you send the KLAW Secretary details for an announcement to go to the KLAW membership
- Are you in the new KLAW Whats App group and will that be useful for an announcement?
- Will you be able to produce a short write up / photos of the event after it has ended, for the KLAW website?
